DHL
Distribution Facility
Allentown Crossings
The DHL Distribution Facility at the Allentown
Crossings is a 290,000 square foot built-to-suit project for DHL.
The building will be used as a package sorting and distribution
facility. The new facility will be the principal DHL distribution
center on the East Coast of the United States, the most significant
concentration of businesses and consumers in the U.S., and will
serve all major metropolitan areas in the region. The new state-of-the
art facility will employ approximately 340 people from the local
community and will have a handling capacity of 40,000 letters
per hour/50,000 parcels per hour.
The mechanical systems for
this building consist of eleven AbsolutAire R Series direct-fired
heating and ventilating units. The units are controlled using
AbsolutAire’s building pressure control system, which keeps
the facility at a positive pressure to control infiltration through
the 178 exterior truck dock doors.
